System Requirements for Windows Vista: You maybe surprised to learn that every version of Windows Vista (except for Home) requires a minimum of 1Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM, 128MB of memory on your graphics card, and 40 GB of hard drive space. Also your graphics card must be a “Windows Aero-capable graphic card” with a WDDM driver, Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware, and 32 bits per pixel. Keep in mind that these are only the bare minimum requirements recommended by Microsoft to run Windows Vista. MY general rule of thumb as a user of Windows since the early 90’s has always been to double the recommended system requirements to figure out what would be the most comfortable spot to keep a system up to date and running daily for 2 years or more.
