Even though this version of Windows Vista Ultimate is clearly a costmetic edition, it sure offer’s a nice visual touch. I was happy to grab this eddition because of the donation Microsoft gives, but also because of the nice beautiful RED it entraps you in. Microsoft Vista is actually a huge improvement over XP to me, and I have been mostly happy with the merge. I enjoy the ease of use, and all of my software and devices have ran very nicely on it. My PC is only an Acer with AMD 5200 Dual Core, and a 512MB basic Nvidia graphics card and 2GB of memory. If your pc has at least 2GB of memory, and at least 128MB of dedicated graphics, Vista will run great with the full visual experience, 1GB works good as well just without the fancy visual effects. I love the built in Fax software with Ultimate, and the networking tools, so if you must have the business side of Vista, this is your best bet!!! Works great, and very enjoyable after adding a few of your own 3rd party software favorites.

I had heard some real horror stories about Ugrading from Windows XP to Vista; But I was plesantly suprised with the ease of the installation and the improved performance I’ve experienced.

I am very satisfied with this purchase in as far it gives me more that my system can do than it was able to do with the installed Vista Basic which was just not satisfying at all. Thanks for the great price.

I am a fan of high end gamer stuff and I was curious about Vista. I heard so many bad things that was hard to believe that it was true.
Conclusion?
I tried every single Vista available, and let me tell you: Do NOT waste your money and time with any other version of Vista than the Ultimate version.
Check this: Install any other version of Vista (Home, Bussiness) and then updated upto the end, when no more updates are available. Then, upgrade it Vista Ultimate and check updates again… what do you got? well, more than 40+ brand new updates of performance, security, reliability that only comes up if you have the Ultimate, otherwise, you will loose them.
For home use, gaming, htpc, bussiness… if you want an stable, reliable, functional and not garbage OS, get the Ultimate and don’t waste money and time.
By the way, you will need at least 2GB of Ram to run it properly and once you try it, you will find not a reason to go back to Windows XP. Even the 64bits version is much better than the one of XP and have a lot less compatibility issues.
Gamers: DirectX9 and DirectX10 are not compatible each other, but both can be installed in the same PC, believe me, I have it that way.
