In particular, Windows Live Messenger and Internet Explorer both hang frequently and take forever to open new tabs/windows. (Perhaps it has to do with updates to Messenger and IE, not Vista SP1--I think I recall seeing that Microsoft Update downloaded a bunch of updates at the same time I downloaded SP1.) But in a nutshell, I'm pulling my hair out! Going to try restoring my PC to a time before downloading SP1 to see if that addresses the problem.
