Windows Vista SP1 Just as Slow
Well, according to this PC World article, once you get Windows Vista Service Pack 1 or SP1 – your PC will be just as slow as the original version of Vista. That kinda sucks, like I wrote in other posts here on Vista Review – this OS was touted as being “snappy, responsive, and fast”, and it’s been slow, buggy, and sluggish. I think we were all expecting to get some kind of performance boost with SP1 – but it doesn’t really look like that’s going to happen.

actually, I think sp1 is even slower than the original one…that sucks a lot…some of my programs have to be reinstalled after I installed SP1 (thanks god, they go automatically)…SP1 = another disaster for windows users…

Upgraded to Windows Vista SP1 and it’s brought my PC to its knees. In particular, Windows Live Messenger and Internet Explorer both hang frequently and take forever to open new tabs/windows. (Perhaps it has to do with updates to Messenger and IE, not Vista SP1–I think I recall seeing that Microsoft Update downloaded a bunch of updates at the same time I downloaded SP1.) But in a nutshell, I’m pulling my hair out! Going to try restoring my PC to a time before downloading SP1 to see if that addresses the problem.
